Federal policy can be dry and daunting. Statistics, figures, and studies mean nothing to the average person. To develop materials for grassroots audiences, I identify common, progressive values then use stories to succinctly explain how the policy does, or does not, reflect those values.

Examples:

• Created an online toolkit for Missouri stem cell advocates – people who are not stem cell research experts – with materials to plan a house party to educate and encourage their friends and family to support stem cell research.

• Developed education materials explaining the federal budget and appropriations process, including state specific fact sheets, definition sheets and flow charts.

• Wrote for the USAction blog: Aggressive Progressive.

• Researched education policy proposals and statistical data for USAction's 2008 report: Next New Deal: Our Plan to Invest in America's Future.
