The pathway to political progress
I develop innovative, national strategies which paves the pathway for coalitions and organizations to achieve their progressive, political goals. I streamline coalition activities but also identify strategic opportunities that may fall outside of the original strategy plan.
Examples:
Chaired the outreach committee
of a national campaign, Rebuild & Renew America Now (2009), to pass
the President's budget. Recruited over 115 national and state-based
organizations to participate in nationally-coordinated events and
advocacy. Led coordination of the Million Doors for Peace (9/20/2008)
national canvass. Recruited over 8,000 volunteers from 49 states;
volunteers identified 14,111 people opposed to the Iraq war and 1,000
people committed to volunteer for future anti-war efforts. Wrote
campaign plan and coalition statement; coordinated the coalition of 25
participating organizations. Directed
coordination of more than 150 activities in fall of 2007 which
generated 45 earned media reports stressing the importance of the State
Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). Also provided trouble
shooting support and maintained all report backs. Developed the field tactical plans for national budget
advocacy as part of the national Emergency Campaign for America's
Priorities (2006 & 2007). Managed partners' commitments to
participate in, and prepared reports on, Weeks of Action that included
grassroots activity in an average of 20 states each week. Provided strategy consultation, issue research and logistical
support for USAction state affiliates in Georgia, Idaho, Missouri and New Jersey throughout the 2005 Americans United to Protect Social
Security campaign which defeated President Bush's proposal to privatize
Social Security.
